As I was creating this drawing, which seemed to flow from my pencil I recall feeling the movement of the river. It was as if I was channeling my memory of the river onto the paper. I was considering exploring the same scene I had painted before, but focusing on more energetic lines. I needed to feel the marks of the pencil, carving the river.
