Dear Art For All Community,
It is with mixed emotions that I share that I will be taking educational leave to complete my Master’s of Landscape Architecture and Environmental Planning at NCSU’s College of Design. Over the course of the last year, I have come to realize the importance of honoring my capacity, not only for my health but the health of the organization. This decision aligns with Art For All - NC's commitment to continuous learning and growth, and I truly believe that this will significantly enhance our organization's ability to fulfill its mission -- cultivating community through art.
Specifically, this educational leave presents a unique opportunity to expand Art For All - NC's impact as the knowledge gained through graduate education will inevitably strengthen my ability to engage with partners and our board. Fostering new relationships with artists, designers, engineers, public officials and others is a wonderful asset to this interdisciplinary field. The experiential education I gain in Landscape Architecture and Environmental Planning will support Art For All in initiating large-scale public art projects, creating immersive spaces within the landscape that blend art and the natural environment. Thus, integrating natural and cultural ecologies.
During this period of growth and development, Art For All - NC will be making some temporary adjustments, such as minimizing our programming offerings to one or two events per year. This will allow us to concentrate on strategic planning and organizational development, ensuring that our future initiatives are well-designed and impactful. As I, the executive director, and board of directors are all volunteers, this approach will enable us to use our resources most effectively for the long-term benefit of the organization. However, despite the reduced programming, we will remain active online and continue to support and invest in partnerships that align with our mission.
We appreciate your understanding and continued support during this transformative period. By investing in leadership development and organizational growth, we are ultimately investing in the future of art and community in North Carolina. We look forward to sharing our progress and new initiatives with you in the coming months.
As we look ahead, we are excited about the future of Art For All - NC! We are currently planning an art supply drive 2 local Schools and in the Spring, and a Community Art Experience™ in the Summer. Stay tuned for more details! If you would like to support our mission, please consider making a sustaining donation. Any amount is sincerely appreciated.
Warmly,
Jennifer
